Agri Investment Mission: Ethiopia | 25 - 27 February 2019

The African Agri Council, in partnership with the South African Embassy in Ethiopia, is pleased to host a delegation of investors on an agriculture investment mission to Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar and Hawassa from the 25 - 27 February 2019.


Day one - Monday, 25 February 2019 | Addis Ababa, from 9am


  • Briefing on the investment climate and regulatory frameworks as well as overview of agri sector development, key value chains for growth, mapping the sector and understanding who is who

  • Introductions to major Addis based operators and investors

  • Introductions to key agricultural associations’ management and members

Fly from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar, Amhara Regional State, overnight in Bahir Dar at Avanti Hotel

Day two - Tuesday, 26 February 2019 | Bahir Dar, from 9am


  • Briefing from Bahir Dar Investment Commission

  • Crops opportunities - most of the region produces a variety of cereals, pulses, spices, fruits, vegetables and flowers

  • Livestock opportunities - this is one of the richest in areas for livestock in Ethiopia, requiring private capital for dairy development, feed development and livestock agribusiness.

  • Agricultural services opportunities

Day three - Wednesday, 27 February 2019 | depart Addis to Hawassa, Oromia Regional State

Delegates may fly out that night to their respective destinations or next day.

Package options

  • Option 1: Full mission including flights - $3,715.00

  • Option 2: Full mission excluding flights - $2,995.00

Cost includes one night hotel accommodation in Addis Ababa and one night hotel accommodation in Bahir Dar (both including breakfast); transfers in Ethiopia; lunch & dinner on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
